St. Louis Drummer, Kyle Ray performing live with Jeremiah Johnson Band at a sold out Blue House Theater show

Hey, it’s Kyle Ray, your St. Louis drummer, and I’m still buzzing from our second sold-out show with the Jeremiah Johnson Band at the Blue House Theater. Packing that house two times over is a testament to the killer energy of this band and the fans who keep the St. Louis blues scene alive. From the DW Tasmanian timber kit to the green room vibes, here’s why this night—and this venue—stands out as one of the best within two hours of St. Louis.

The DW Tasmanian Timber Kit: A Drummer’s Dream

Let’s talk about the star of the show (besides the band, of course): the house DW Tasmanian timber kit. This thing is an absolute beast to play. The tone is rich and warm, with a punch that cuts through the mix like a hot knife. Every kick and snare hit rang out perfectly in the Blue House Theater’s acoustics, making it a joy to drive the Jeremiah Johnson Band’s blues-rock sound. If you’re a drummer in St. Louis or beyond, getting behind this kit is worth the trip alone—it’s that good.

Selling Out Blue House Theater: Take Two

This wasn’t our first rodeo at Blue House Theater, and it won’t be our last. Selling it out for the second time felt just as sweet as the first. The crowd was electric, feeding off Jeremiah’s gritty vocals and guitar, the band’s tight grooves, and, yeah, my beats holding it all together. There’s something special about seeing every seat filled, knowing we’re bringing the St. Louis blues tradition to life in a place that gets it. Two sellouts with the Jeremiah Johnson Band? That’s a flex I’m proud to be part of.

The Green Room and Beyond

Downstairs, the green room at Blue House Theater is a gem. It’s cozy, laid-back, and the perfect spot to chill before and after the show. The venue crew? Top-notch. They had fresh sandwiches and all the fixings cooked up across the street, delivered fast and hot. It’s little touches like that—making sure we’re fed and ready to roll—that set this place apart. You don’t just play Blue House; you feel taken care of while you’re there.

A Premier Venue Near St. Louis

Blue House Theater is hands-down one of the premier venues within two hours of St. Louis. The sound, the staff, the vibe—it’s built for nights like this. Whether you’re a musician or a fan, it’s a spot that delivers every time. For me, drumming with the Jeremiah Johnson Band in a sold-out house here is a high-water mark. The fact that we’ve done it twice now? That’s just fuel to keep coming back.

So here’s to the Blue House Theater, the DW Tasmanian kit, and the St. Louis faithful who keep showing up. Catch us next time—we’re just getting started.
